CHARITY FOOTBALL MATCH 2025

Our Charity matches started as a one-off game between two teams but we have now changed the concept to a FOUR team tournament - they will battle it out for the SJB Trophy!

Celebrities and ex-pros will be in attendance and participating (details to follow soon) on our Instagram and Facebook pages…

Every year it has been immensely competitive on the pitch and an amazing family experience on the side-lines for everyone watching.

This will be the very first time we have been hosted by Billericay Football Club, and we cannot wait to use the amazing stadium. 

Our very first SJBF charity event was a successful football match, organised by Sammy Jo’s boyfriend Jack, back in October 2018.

Jack has done a fantastic job every year since then, with the only exception being last year where another venue unexpectedly cancelled just two days beforehand. Thanks to his efforts, these events always draw a good crowd. This event will be for all ages, and we can’t wait to see you there.

We will of course have plenty to do for the kids including a bouncy castle, face painting, teddy tombola, raffle, auction and plenty more! 

Lastly, all the details are on the poster below. We will have some amazing prizes for the raffles and auction of which we will be supported by –  @maximus_memorabilia – Please check out their page, as they have some unbelievable bits!

  • The Sammy Jo Brandon Foundation to date has raised over £420,000 for Children with Cancer UK through Dinner & Dances, Football Matches, Race For Life, Golf Days, London Marathon and lots of other events which have been done on our behalf by others. We are hoping to hit the half million pounds by 8th August  2025 – Sammy Jo’s Birthday. We know if we have only saved one child’s life from cancer, we are fulfilling Sammy Jo’s wishes.  With your help, and our fundraising, we can save a lot more in the future. The number of people that donate and support our events, show how much love there was and still is for Sammy Jo.

Our History…

  • Sammy Jo lost her battle at 29 years old to Triple Negative Breast Cancer (8.8.88 – 14.5.18) – Sammy Jo always wanted children of her own, and she would get upset knowing children were going through the same horrific effects of her treatment. 
  • In February 2018, we got the devastating news that cancer had returned in her brain and lungs and only had weeks to live; over the following weeks there was a lot of hard conversations with her, one of them being about raising money at her funeral, she said the money raised must go to Children With Cancer UK.
  • We raised £6,485 – at her funeral. A few days after the funeral Sammy Jo’s cousin Robyn suggested we start a foundation in her name, we all thought it was a great idea, a few months later The Sammy Jo Brandon Foundation was all set up.
  • Through lots of hard work and support from our family, friends and Sammy Jo’s friends and families and all the amazing people we don’t know personally, that donate to our events.
